There is no question more fundamental than the one which comes from Jesus’ statement in this weekends gospel: “no one can serve two master.”
Do we realize we have options regarding who we serve?
Are we aware of which “master” we are serving?

God has called us to be holy, and we see what holiness is every time we look upon a crucifix – the visible sign of the words we hear in this weekends Gospel.
Being “Salt” and “light” only make sense if we know the truth of why God created us. Because we are called into being simply to Know, Love and Serve Him…we can now “preserve” what is good and ”pull out” what is already present (salt) in life. We can “make known” what was previously unknown and we can ” lead” the way in such a dark world (light).
