The Catechism of the Catholic Church looks at the mystery of the True Presence of Christ under several titles. On the Feast’s of Pentecost and the Most Holy Trinity we looked at the communal dimension. This week, the invitation is to look at our disposition towards the Body and Blood of Christ as Holy Communion: communion with God and communion with neighbor. Does our belief and our personal devotion, lead us to deeper communion?

Created in the image and likeness of God for most people means having an intellect and will. Today’s Feast celebrates an even more basic dimension of this image: communal.
How do you exercise your intellect and will to live this communal dimension of who you are?
Pentecost

Scripture tells us that the Spirit of God turned chaos into order, was breathed into the nostrils of Adam giving him life, was the strength of the priests, inspired the prophets, and guided the kings.
This is the same Spirit that the Archangel Gabriel said would come upon Mary that she might give flesh to the Word.
This Spirit led Jesus into the desert to be tempted, hovered over him at his baptism, left him as he hung upon the cross “breathing his last.”
The Spirit raised Jesus from the dead, was promised to us as Jesus Ascended into heaven, gave courage to the Apostles hiding in the upper room paralyzed by fear, inspired the authors of the scriptures, guided the Church in preserving, finding, selecting and assembling what is known as the bible.
The Spirit of God is given to each person in Baptism, sealed in Confirmation and JUST WAITING to be unleashed in each of us. COME HOLY SPIRIT, Help us give you the permission needed which would allow you to be the spirit acting in and through us!
